Running Injuries

Up to 50% of runners experience an injury each year that stops them from running. The most common injuries that runners sustain are:

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Medial tibial stress syndrome

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Stress fractures

Those that are new to running, have had a previous injury in the last 12 months, or have a high training load are at a higher risk of a running injury.

There is strong evidence that shows link between biomechanical faults and injuries in runners.

If you are suffering from a running related injury, come in and see one of our Physiotherapists for a running assessment. To book an appointment call 9245 7007 or send an email to admin@horizonphysio.com.au
