Non-operative Management Of ACL Tears

Did you know the ACL can heal after a rupture? The Cross Bracing Protocol (CBP) is a conservative ALC protocol where the knee is immobilised in a brace post-injury. It is thought to facilitate healing of the ACL by reducing the gap between the two ends of the ligament and providing it with an opportunity to rebuild its continuity.

A recent study shows after management with CBP, 90% of patients had signs of healing on a 3-month MRI.

If you have an ACL injury, speak to one of the physios at Horizon Physiotherapy about your management and rehabilitation options. Call to book on 9245 7007 or admin@horizonphysio.com.au
