Golf-Fit

Golf Fit is a golf specific program run by our physio
Josh Annear.

It is no secret that golf is a popular sport amongst all age groups and of varying abilities. The rate of injuries however appears to be consistent throughout age groups.

A study of close to 800 golfers in Australia indicate that 16% of golfers will have some sort of golf relate pain or injury per year.Other studies reveal that these injuries are often re-occurring. Furthermore, the literature illustrates that overtraining, flexibility, power, and swing biomechanics all seem to have a major role in injury prevention, as well as performance; specifically, club head speed.

Your Golf fit assessment is conducted in a 1:1 environment; half of which is done outside where Josh will assess your golf swing through 3 different camera angles: side on view, down the line, and overhead.

Three different camera angles are needed.

All three angles are important in assessing swing characteristic and sequencing of movements throughout the backswing, downswing, and follow through.

The 2nd half of the assessment will be a musculo-skeletal screening conducted in the clinic where josh will look at everything from hip strength, ribcage rotation, and balance. The purpose of this is to identify any physical barriers to you golf swing and performance such as strength and mobility. From here, a program will be designed tailored to the golfer’s specific needs.

If you are working with PGA professional, please let Josh know so we can work as a team to keep you on the course!
