Golf-Fit

Golf-Fit is a golf specific program run by our physio Josh Annear.

It is no secret that golf is a popular sport amongst all age groups and of varying abilities. The rate of injuries however appears to be consistent throughout age groups.

A study of close to 800 golfers in Australia indicate that 16% of golfers will have some sort of golf relate pain or injury per year. Other studies reveal that these injuries are often re-occurring. Furthermore, the literature illustrates that overtraining, flexibility, power, and swing biomechanics all seem to have a major role in injury prevention, as well as performance; specifically, club head speed.

Your Golf-Fit will be conducted in the physio clinic. AI software will measure your body mechanics in 3D, giving us a complete picture of the movement patterns in your golf swing. Your data will be compared to the world’s best players.

A.I. technology used to capture 3D

Two angles are needed to produce all the 3D data we need. Everything from rotation, sway, lift, side bend, and thrust will be measured at each key point of the swing, i.e. back swing, transition, downswing, impact and finish.

The second half of the assessment will be a musculo-skeletal screening where Josh will assess your strength, mobility, balance, and upper and lower body dissociation. Josh will also assess any complaints of pain, and current injuries. The purpose of this is to identify any physical barriers to your golf swing biomechanics.

If you are working with PGA professional, please let Josh know so we can work as a team to keep you on the course!
