Treating Groin Pain

Adductor related groin pain is very common and involves the muscle of the inner thigh as it attaches to the pubic bone. It will most commonly occur in cutting and change of direction athletes like soccer, football and netball players but can happen to anyone. These problems can be quite debilitating and difficult to resolve.

Luckily there is a solution. A study compared passive treatments (such as massage and ultrasound) to more active treatment plans and found that 79% of patients who followed a structured, active training plan had no symptoms and returned to sport by 18.5 weeks compared with only 14% of patients who where on a more passive plan.

If you have groin pain and want a functional and active treatment strategy book in to see one of our physiotherapists.
