Persistent Knee Pain
Knee pain like all other parts of the body can be broken down into traumatic injury and non-traumatic injury. If you’ve had knee pain that has come on seemingly out of the blue and persisted without improvement, it’s highly likely that you have non-traumatic knee pain.
No matter what the origin of these pains we now know that they will often have multiple contributing factors. Osteoarthritic or degenerative changes makes up only one of these factors, others include general health (such as obesity or poor diet), lifestyle factors (such as poor sleep or lower physical activity levels), muscle weakness or deconditioning, social or psychological stress, anxiety, depression or negative beliefs. All of these things alter your knee pain experience and function.
The good news is, many of these factors can be modifiable!! Because of this you can often drastically improve your knee pain without the need for surgery or injections.
